We had a busy summer with birthday parties, rehearsals, camp, pool parties and trip to New York City!
It is hard to belive our recital already came and went. It is such an exciting time for our dancers as they show off their dances they have worked so very hard on all year. Thank you for being a part of GDA!
Our pro dancers completed their final competition of the year this past weekend and did an outstanding job. We are beyond proud of these dancers as they came together as a team in support of one another to place in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 8th and received bids to nationals! All of our age groups placed and had outstanding performances. This is not possible without the support of their teachers and their parents. Thank you all for an awesome year with our competition team, Pro Dance, and believing in this program!

The Halloween Hop was a HUGE success. The kids had a blast and left exhausted. Pizza, glow stick dancing, hula hoop contest, broom stick races, photo booth, mummy wrap race, parachute and cookies! Join us next year!
We had the BEST time at dance camp. Singing and dancing to Annie, great snacks, crafts every day and most all having fun with friends!

We are honored to award Isabel Campbell as our Spotlight Student for 2015/2016. Her commitment and dedication towards dance has given her a huge achievement being accepted into the Rockettes Intensive. We are thrilled to be a part of your journey through dance!
We are incredibly proud of our Pro Dancers as they took the stage this past weekend! Our trio Level I placed fifth over all, our Level II small group received fourth over all and our Level II duet received second! Finally, Level III duets received two firsts and second and Level III solos received first, second, third, fourth and fifth! We are so proud of the hard work our dancers have put in!
We had the privilege to work with Stage Door Connections and host a "Matilda" workshop for our dancers. They learned choreography from the show! So fun watching the show together after the workshop too! Thank you Stage Door Connections!

January 30th - Matilda Workshop- a cast member from the show will come to GDA Saturday January 30th for a 2 hour master class and Q&A! Ages 9 and up for $25.00 per dancer. Join us for this amazing opportunity. Deadline for signing up is Wednesday January 27th, 2016.
Your children are welcome to play with our toys in the sibling corner, however we kindly ask that you please clean up afterwards. Also, there is a diaper genie located in our large bathroom to the left. Please place soiled diapers in there and not in our main trash can in the lobby.

- December 5th join our Level III GDA Pro Dancers as they perform in the Historic Franklin Christmas Parade!
- December 19th is our Pro Dance Holiday Showcase, an event you do not want to miss! Our Pro Dancers will be performing their dance numbers to prepare for our competition season and guest artists performing Christmas carols. Tickets available in the office, $5.00 each and the event begins at 7:00 P.M. @2419 Bethlehem Loop Rd, Franklin, TN 37069
- Please collect lost and found items by December 18th. Items not collected will be donated to Goodwill.

Dear Grassland Dance Academy,
Two years ago today we opened our doors to welcome you and your family to Grassland Dance Academy. It has been an amazing journey so far and we look forward to the years to come.
Thank you for sharing your children with us and allowing us to provide them with a dance education. “Dance is a performance art form consisting of purposefully selected sequences of human movement”, source Wikipedia. While dance is our main goal, we also strive to create a loving and fun atmosphere.
We want your kids to come and enjoy their friends, the latest hits of today's music and most of all a place where they can be free to be them. Dance is freeing and your children come alive when that music comes on. Their faces beaming from ear to ear when you show them a cool move that they will learn. When you play their favorite song and they instantly start dancing the way they feel it to the music. The way they love to share their lives with you and want to tell you funny stories about what went on that day at home or school. To watch your children grow as dancers is astounding. They try and try so hard for that double pirouette and one day they get it. They get it and they feel on top of the world. As they grow into better dancers they grow into confident young ladies and gentlemen. This is what we, as dance instructors, live for.
These moments are cherished and is why we teach dance. It is why we are honored to pass down the gift of dance to the youth of today. Dance is passed down generation after generation and continues to be an important part of our lives.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for allowing us to share dance with you and your children. Without you Grassland Dance Academy wouldn’t exist. Thank you.

- October 1st, 2015 “Recital Forms” are due. Please note that final payment for recital is not due until November 1st, 2015.
- October 16th - 19th - Fall Break - No classes
- October 30th from 6:15 - 9:30 p.m. is our annual Halloween Hop! Join our Pro Dancers for a parents night out where your child can enjoy pizza, games, crafts and fun in their Halloween costumes! Please be sure to sign up with Miss Katie to reserve your spot, spaces fill up fast! It is not limited to just GDA families, bring friends and family with you. Payment is required upon signing up $25 per child, $35 for families of 2-4 and $45 for families of 5-8.
October is bring a friend to dance month! We realize that the beginning of the year is always busy for families, but we want your friends to have the opportunity to enroll in dance with us. Please bring your friends with you to your dance class. If your friend enrolls we offer a referral discount! Please note that this is limited to one friend per class.
